Thalipeeth Recipe | Diabetes-Friendly Thalipeeth | Thalipeeth

Thalipeeth is most popular in western India, particularly in Maharashtra. It is similar to keto paratha but more delicious, healthy than keto parantha, and even easy to digest. Generally, to make Maharashtrian thalipith we need a mixture of urad daal, chana daal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, wheat, and rice.

But you don’t have to bother to make flour with all these ingredients. We have an alternative flour that contains all the ingredients and nutrition of thalipeeth flour.

Thalipeeth Ingredients:

To make a healthier and lighter version of thalipeeth you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Chopped Onion.
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander (Dhaniya).
  • 1 Chopped green chilli.
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder.
  • 1 Cup (120gm) Diabexy atta.
  • ½ tsp coriander powder.
  • ½ tsp cumin powder (Jeera powder).
  • Salt as per your taste.

I have taken Diabexy atta because of 2 reasons. First, you don’t have to bother making flour of daal mixture (pulses) and other ingredients. Second, it helps in managing our blood sugar levels. So, if you are a diabetic or want to lose weight then it is the best option for you. You can purchase it by clicking on it.

  • Last and final step before making the dough, add ½ tsp jeera powder (Cumins powder) and salt as per your taste and mix them properly.

Now we will make soft dough from our mixture.

  • Add ½ - 1 Cup water and make a dough like you used to do for regular atta dough.

Before you start making rolls do 1 thing: take a metal kitchen plate and reverse it, now cover it with oiled butter paper. So, that you will not face any issue to stretch the roll.

  • Now take a small portion of dough and start making rolls on that covered metal plate.

  • After stretching it to a small circle we will start cooking it on a cooking pan.
  • Take a cooking pan and put some desi ghee on it. When you notice that the ghee is a little bit hot, put your roll on it and cook it from both sides by greasing it with the desi ghee.

You can use oil as well like olive oil, but I recommend you, use desi ghee because it is healthier than the oil. Now your instant Maharashtrian thalipeeth is ready to serve. Enjoy your meal.
