Punjabi Paneer Paratha Recipe: Step-by-Step Guide
To make paneer paratha you must have all the ingredients mentioned above. Now follow the guidelines carefully.
Take 1 cup of Diabexy Atta (120g) in a bowl.
Add ½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp ajwain, and 1 tsp sesame seeds to the atta.
Add a little bit of chopped coriander and mix all ingredients very gently.
Add water gradually (1 cup atta needs 3-4 cups water) and knead into a soft dough. Cover with a clean cloth and rest for 10-15 minutes.
Grate the paneer first.
Add 1 tsp red chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp pepper powder, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp cumin powder. Mix them properly.
Take a small portion of dough like we use for regular roti and roll it into a small circle.
Place a portion of the paneer mixture in the center of the rolled dough.
Fold and close all the edges of the roll, then roll it out again to make a perfect round-shaped paratha.
Cook on medium flame. After 30-40 seconds, flip it when bubbles start forming.
Apply desi ghee as per your taste on both sides. Your paneer paratha is ready!
If you eat paratha with Dahi (yogurt), it will be the best pair to enjoy the meal.
- Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes for softer parathas
- Use fresh paneer for the best taste and texture
- Don't over-roll the stuffed dough to prevent filling from coming out
- Serve hot with fresh curd, pickle, or mint chutney
